The goal of Dr Mobbs’ lab is two-fold: (i) to map and functionally understand the human ‘defensive survival circuits’, behaviors, and computations associated with ecologically defined threat states and (ii) understand how survival circuits are altered by the social context.  He obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from University College, London, working with Professors Chris Frith FRS and Ray Dolan FRS.  Dr Mobbs was an Assistant Professor at Columbia University and currently an Assistant Professor at Caltech, where he directs the ‘Social, Affective and Ecological Neuroscience’ Laboratory.  Along with Co-PI Dr Camerer, Dr Mobbs is the Principal Investigator for the Conte Center Project 3: Social Inference and Threat.
