Dr. Rutishauser studies the neural mechanisms of learning, memory, and decision making. His laboratory uses a combination of experimental (in-vivo single-unit electrophysiology in humans, intracranial electrocorticography, eye tracking, behavior) and computational approaches to decipher the mechanisms by which humans form memories and subsequently use them for making decisions. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computation & Neural Systems from Caltech and did postdoctoral work at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr. Rutishauser is a Co-Principal Investigator for the Conte Center Project 4, Social Inference and the Self.
